The Cotton, Textile and Garment Development Forum (CTGDF), on Thursday revealed that no fewer than 180 textile factories that have been working in Nigeria some years again have now closed down.

Checks confirmed that the NEC at its 149th assembly on twenty fourth April, 2025, endorsed the institution of a Cotton, Textile and Garment Development Board.
The NEC endorsed mannequin is Presidency domiciled and personal sector pushed, with the inclusion of governors representing the six geopolitical zones, Federal Ministries of Agriculture and Food Security; Budget and Economic Planning; Industry, Trade & Investment; in addition to Finance Ministry.
