Dr Taiwo Fasoranti, the Secretary to the Ondo State Government and eldest son of the late Afenifere chief, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, has revealed that his father had a covenant with God to cross away on the age of 100.
Speaking throughout a condolence go to by Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on the household residence in Akure on Tuesday evening, Dr Fasoranti said that the household is celebrating his father’s life fairly than mourning.
“Baba often told us that he had a covenant with God that whenever he got to 100, he would go. He repeatedly told us that when he died, we should not cry,” Fasoranti stated. “We are not mourning Baba; we are rejoicing. Baba has left us a big pair of shoes to step into, but we can only thank God for his legacy.”
He described the late elder statesman as a loyal mother or father and efficient communicator who left behind values of firmness, resilience, and arduous work.
Governor Aiyedatiwa praised the late pan-Yoruba chief as an epitome of knowledge and selfless service, noting that his contributions to schooling and governance stay important.
“Even at that age, Baba was still influencing the decisions of government. That is to tell you that he was still mentally sound,” Aiyedatiwa remarked, assuring that the state authorities and the nation would honour his reminiscence.
