The Ogun State House of Assembly has summoned key authorities companies and ministries over rising public safety concerns within the state.
The companies invited embody the Head of Fire Service, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, the Commissioner for Environment, the Federal Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA, and the contractor dealing with the Abeokuta-Sango-Ota Expressway.
Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Oludaisi Elemide, issued the invites at plenary on Thursday.
He first summoned the Head of Fire Service and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Special Duties to look on Friday, October 23, 2026, over the state of fire stations throughout the state.
The invitation adopted a Matter of Urgent Public Importance raised by Waliu Owode, representing Ijebu East State Constituency, over a current fire outbreak at Itele Market that destroyed property and technique of livelihood.
Owode mentioned residents of his constituency had repeatedly known as on the federal government and related companies for intervention.
