Troops of 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY), have ambushed Lakurawa terrorists at Ruwan Wuri in Gudu Local Government Area of Sokoto State, killing several fighters and recovering weapons, ammunition and different operational gear.
In an announcement, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force (North-West), Operation FANSAN YAMMA, stated troops recovered four AK-47 rifles, four AK-47 magazines, six bikes, radio communication gear, ammunition and different military-related objects throughout the operation.
The restoration of the weapons, bikes and communication gear represents a major disruption to the group’s operational capabilities, notably its mobility and communication.
The operation underscores the continued efforts of troops beneath Operation FANSAN YAMMA to dismantle terrorist networks, disrupt their actions and deny them entry to the weapons and logistical help wanted to maintain their actions.
The navy’s sustained operations throughout Sokoto State and different components of the North-West are aimed toward curbing terrorist actions, defending susceptible communities and restoring lasting peace and safety to the area.
Residents are inspired to proceed offering safety businesses with credible and well timed info to help ongoing operations towards terrorist teams.
