The Old Grammarians Society, 1976/81 set of CMS Grammar School, Lagos, will have fun the fiftieth anniversary of its members’ admission into the celebrated college, based in 1859.
The celebrations will start within the night of October 8 with a meet and greet reception, and a go to to the varsity at midday on October 9.
On Saturday 10 October, members will take pleasure in a sightseeing and leisure journey to the historic metropolis of Abeokuta.
The celebrations will culminate on Sunday, October 11, with a thanksgiving service on the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina, Lagos, adopted by a celebratory luncheon and fundraiser. The luncheon shall be chaired by retired Justice of the Supreme Court, (*50*) Rhodes-Vivour.
Briefing journalists, the Chairman of the fiftieth Anniversary Celebrations Planning Committee, Mr. Kayode Olu-Martins, defined that the anniversary presents a possibility to have fun enduring friendship and provides again to the varsity.
“This milestone is an opportunity to celebrate the school that nurtured us and helped shape the men we have become. Beyond the reunion, we want to leave a lasting legacy that will benefit generations of students,” he mentioned.
As its anniversary legacy mission, the set is elevating funds to sponsor one classroom within the Tola Adebonojo ICT Building, an initiative of OGS Americas. The constructing honours Professor Tola Adebonojo, grand patron of the Old Grammarians Society within the Americas and UK/Europe.
Through this contribution, the 1976/81 set seeks to help ICT training at CMS Grammar School and strengthen the varsity’s custom of getting ready college students for the long run.
