The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has empowered 30 senior secondary college students of Premiere Academy, Abuja, as human rights defenders and peace ambassadors, charging them to advertise human rights, peace and civic duty of their faculty and communities.
The Executive Secretary, Chief Anthony Okechukwu (*30*), SAN, obtained the scholars at a particular peace advocacy and human rights coaching organised by the fee on Monday
He was accompanied by the Deputy Director, Human Rights Education and Promotion, Mrs. Uche Okwuobi.
The coaching, facilitated by officers of the Human Rights Education and Promotion Unit and representatives of different departments of the fee, centered on strengthening the scholars’ understanding of human rights, citizen tasks and civic values.
